He was a retired farmer and worked at Spiro Glass Plant making novelty glass for many years. He was a member of the American Legion, of the Assembly of God faith,a Army Veteran of World War II, an avid outdoorsman (with a special passion for hunting and fishing). He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was very patriotic person who served his country with pride.
He was preceded in death by his parents,three brothers, Art, Carl and Olen Barnes and two sisters, Margie Wiles and Betty Russell.
